Fern-Leaf Peony (Paeonia tenuifolia)

http://www.durgan.org/URL/?FernLeaf 2 May 2009 Fern-Leaf Peony (Paeonia tenuifolia)
A very pretty plant. It is three years since planted from another's garden. The clump gets a little larger each year, and appears to be slow growing in my area.

The scarlet flower is in full bloom. The blooms follow the Sun, when bright the flower opens and on a dull day the flower remains closed.

Hi I have a fern-leaf peony growing by my pine tree and it seems to really like it, is that normal for a peony of that kind to enjoy the acid from the pine tree?, or should I dare try to move it. Yes I have never seen one before so I am new to this plant.

My fern leaf peony was obtained from another's garden. It was a shovelful of a soggy, clay mess when I dug it up. I planted it and then moved it twice to its present location. This miserable treatment indicates that the roots are very resilient. It was slowed down in growth, but slowly got bigger. I think this is the fourth year.

My plant is not in an acid environment, yet seems to do very well.It may be that the plant likes an acid environment.

Anyway, the thrust of my babble is that it appears moving the plant is possible without any serious growth inhibition.
