14 September 2007 Cherry Tomato Sweet Million

http://uixef.notlong.com/ 14 September 2007 Cherry Tomato Sweet Million. (Lycopersicon lycopersicum)

Different varieties of cherry tomato has been grown over several years. The only one that has merit in my opinion is the Sweet Million. The fruit has a perfect size and the taste is most pleasing all season. These pictures depict one plant which is grown on a trellis alongside the deck, shared with the Morning Glories. We pick the fruit as required and partake almost daily. The plant produces from about 15 July until the frost arrives. The quantity of fruit is far more than the requirements for one family. Everyone, who has eaten this tomato, in my experience has positive, complementary comments.

I just came back to your blog this morning as I had previously bookmarked it and had a good read. Good info and pics. We are located north of Saskatoon and have had a good growing year with an abundance of flowers and "green grass". We tend to be burnt out through July and August so it has been a real treat to have green! Do you trade or sell seed? My blog - http://aprairiejournal.blogspot.com/

I save a few seeds, mostly from the opium poppies, since I enjoy the diversity of colour. In general, I don't collect seeds. In most cases seeds are available commercially, and probably have more diversity.

I spent my early childhood on a homestead in Carrot River, Sask. It is a great growing area; in spite, of the short season, similar to your area.
