The garden should be a blaze of colour as the season progresses.
This Journal will depict my efforts during 2008 in Brantford, Ontario, Canada Zone 5. There are many pictures of various operations. Events and tips will be added as the season advances. The property is 0.4 acres with flower and vegetable gardens. For reference here is the 2007 effort. http://www.durgan.org/Blog/Durgan.html

Can you tell me more about your trellis wire? How big are the openings, how tall, and do you paint it as well?
I just love your garden and have been following it for a year now. Thanks for all your info and helpful descriptions of everything.
I am in the United States, Louisiana, Zone 9.
One other question. Where do you buy the wire mesh and how long is it? Keep up the great journal, we all love it.
Wire is concrete reinforcing sheets 4 feet by 8 feet with 6 inch square openings.Almost every hardware store of any size stocks this item for construction use. Price is about $10.00. Sometimes I cut to size using bolt cutters.
I lay the mesh on a plastic sheet and paint it with a brush using Tremclad paint, usually green. Often I paint several sheets at once, laying on top of each other to reduce paint waste. A quart of paint does about 5 sheets.
